Established in 1937, Ticktin Timbers has been a trusted manufacturer and supplier of rough and machined timber products for over 80 years. With significant investment in recent years, we are continually expanding our capabilities, expertise and timber inventory.
With this, our in-house machine shop and experienced team affords us high technical production capability - in both skills and scale.
Our vast product offering includes customised mouldings, shiplap cladding, structural timber, decking, wooden slabs and countertops, tongue-and-groove flooring, skirtings, P.A.R. timber and more.
Flooring & Ceilings
We manufacture tongue-and-groove flooring and ceiling boards, custom-made to your sizing specifications.
Customisations such as end matching, offset tongues on the flooring and Victorian-style ceiling mouldings with and without V- grooves are available.
There are also a variety of square open-grooved profiles available for cladding.
Custom Mouldings, Dowels & Planed-All-Round Timber
Our wide range of blades consists of hundreds of different cutters that enable us to match almost all moulding profiles, even the older ones.
We can supply planed all round timber (P.A.R.) in any size and our specialised machining also includes the production of pergola elements in both hardwoods and treated softwoods.
Our in-house dowel-making machines are capable of producing dowels and rods between 15mm and 140mm in diameter.
Treads & Laminations
The laminating department at Ticktin Timbers produces high quality tops for furniture and counters, as well as stair treads made to your requirements.
Our laminated tops are sanded and cut to size and are supplied ready for finishing.
We are also able to manufacture stair treads for spiral staircases, if drawings or templates are provided.
Live-edge Slabs
Live-edge slabs make great bar counters or kitchen tops, and are also ready for some epoxy work.
Our “Slabmizer” machine is able to make light work of flattening slabs and tops up to 5m long and 1.5m wide.
We offer the service of flattening slabs provided by the client, or our team can supply a range of slabs to your preferred specification, and see the process through from initial flattening to the finished product.
Decking & Structural
We stock a full range of Hardwood Decking products including popular imported timber species like Balau, Garapa, Massaranduba, Purpleheart and Jatoba.
Local timber species are also available, including Grandis Decking in 90 and 140mm wide boards, as well as our treated S.A. Pine (H3) Decking - a cost-effective option for decks with good longevity.
Timber Sales
Apart from our specialised timber machining services, we also operate as a timber merchant in Cape Town. We welcome both commercial and private customers to visit our timber yard, where our sales team will gladly assist you.
